Big Blog Move

Last week, it became apparent that I needed to move my Jubar Sharing blog from blogger to my website. I have been paying for this website for two years, high time I use it. Also, blogger informed me that I had reached the limit of 1 GB for images and had to pay if I wanted to add more, and this was also any images on Picasa. Wow. I was stunned, but again it gave me reason to move my blog.

My blog will now be housed here. Once I figure out how to move my old blog posts without having to redo all of them…you’ll start seeing them, too. If not, I’ll be bummed…and you won’t see them (maybe a few of the newer ones). A lot of learning is going on here moving the blog to my own hosted site and using WordPress…so bear with me as I add and update the site. It’s going to be a work in progress!

My old blog posts are still located on blogger, here, for the time being.

  1. I agree with Paula, you need to upload your images to flickr, photobucket or other free image hosting service. This will improve your site performance, save disk space as well improve your site speed.

As far as your blogger post are concerned you can use below methods

convert your blogger XML file from this link-> http://wordpresstoblogger.appspot.com/ to WordPress WXR then upload it to your wordpress site.

or you can try this option
create an account on wordpress.com -> import all post from blogger to wordpress -> export your file in wordpress format and import on you self hosted wordpress blog and delete your wordpress.com blog.

I hope this one solves your problem

  2. I like the look of it here much better! Also, to avoid that file size thing, you can keep all your images on Flickr and just use the code for the picture in your actual blog post. I don’t do that, but I know Michelle does.
