Time Flies – 15 years since HS

This month I realized it was 15 years since I had graduated high school. 15 years! Where did the time go? How has it really been 15 years? What’s funny, is I know time had passed, because I can’t recall teacher’s names and other student’s that weren’t as important to me (even guys that I had minor crushes on). When I was in college it was all so fresh, I could recall so much. Now I can remember recalling, but I cannot actually recall without looking at a yearbook or something.

With it being 15 years since graduation, my class earlier this year had been talking about having a 15 year reunion, and not waiting until our 20th. If I was in FL, I might go, or heck if I had a job (ATM still job hunting – anyone need an instructional designer?) When it was my 10 year reunion, I was going to go…I even went down to Ft. Myers, but in the end I did not go. The reason, none of my good friends from high school were going. I did buy the picture and address book though (which helped me get back in touch with a dear friend).

As it is, the group for my graduating class, hasn’t been talking about that summer reunion…so it’s probably been pushed off to fall, or even scrapped.

And, I’m just left wondering what have I accomplished since high school graduation? Well, I went to Florida State University and got my Bachelors of Art in Psychology and Classical Civilizations, and went on to get my Masters of Science in Instructional Systems. After college it took a while to get a job as an Instructional Designer, but I did before the year was up. I’ve been an Instructional Designer for over 9 years now, having worked at 3 companies, and had my own LLC for a year.

In my personal life I’ve been with my boyfriend for over 6 years and I have two pets (Maja – cat and Parker – Chihuahua). Also, in 2007, I found out I had 3 more siblings than I thought! Since graduating high school, I’ve lived in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Atlanta (6 wks for work), Orlando, and Columbia (SC).

Me, after graduation – my honor cord, my Gold Seal, and of course my diploma!

Getting older is weird. Time passing is weird. Makes one think about all the things they still want to do…and just how fast time moves forward. I wonder what the next 5, 10, and 15 years will hold!
