Soft Scrub Advanced Surface Review & Giveaway

So far this year, Purex Insiders has been very good to me! Currently, I have two new products in the house from them!

The first one I’ll be sharing is the NEW Soft Scrub Advanced Surface!! It comes in a sleek black bottle with an easy to use twist and pour top. They claim this is the better way to clean premium surfaces. This rinse-free gel cleans and polishes granite and marble countertops, glass cooktops, and stainless steel! Soft Scrub Advanced Surface is tough on stains, but gentle on delicate surfaces. It’s easy to use…just apply to the surface and wipe away with a sponge, cloth, or paper towel!

SoftScrubAdvancedKitI tested the new Soft Scrub Advanced Surface on our glass cooktop earlier today and it did a pretty good job. I have to say it smells great, too, kind of like lemons and not chemical! It says to apply and wipe off, or let sit a minute on tough stains. Well, it did get most of them off, but I sure wondered if I was too impatient with my minutes… Other than the one stain…it worked great…to just wipe off, well with a little bit of scrubbing. It’s awesome that the product does not leave a residue!

SoftScrubAdvancedSurfaceSoft Scrub is having a Be Happy, Don’t Worry sweepstakes! You can enter here! One 1st place winner will receive $1,000 and a year’s supply of Soft Scrub coupons. There will also be 250 2nd place winners who will receive one coupon for a free Soft Scrub Advanced. Pretty sweet! Ends 4/5/13 at 3pm PST.

I love the scent…it’s light and clean. And, my skin feels great after I shower. It’s not extra moisturizing me though, I still need lotion on my legs and arms, but really that’s just me. I do love the scent, but it hasn’t been whisking me off to a secluded tropical island in the mornings…maybe that’s because I’m too tired in the morning or I’m in a hurry? The size of the bottle is great as a family body wash, or just as a great fresh body wash to last a while for one. 🙂 I have to say, I’ll definitely consider buying it again in the future!

An interesting surprise appeared in the mail on Friday…Zico Latte Coconut Water! I really can’t remember why I received this 12 pack, but I must’ve entered a giveaway of theirs when I lived in SC.

On his second trial with a chilled one, he said he likes the taste and it’s a good drink. He can’t quite describe the taste, but that it is good. Well, let’s just say, it does provide enough caffeine as Pete ended up staying up until 2am, while I went to bed before 11pm. Heh.

I’m not a fan of coconut water or coffee flavored things, so the review had to come from my boyfriend! If you have Zico near you, know they do have other flavors (Natural, Chocolate, Pineapple, Mango, and Passion Fruit), so you might find one for you! Feb 2013 Movies Watched

Below are the movies I watched in February 2013. I decided to do something different. I listed if it was rewatch, Redbox rental, theater, or own in parentheses. The rest I watched from Netflix. Enjoy my thoughts on the movies…little or a lot!

Shakespeare In Love (rewatch) – I just wanted to rewatch this as it had been a while. It still was good.

ShakespeareInLovePost Impact (rewatch) – Pete picked this out, and quickly I realized I once watched this on Syfy or something. It was alright, but nothing special.

PostImpactIdiocracy (own, rewatch) – I watch this every now and again, because I LOVE IT and I OWN IT! This movie is freaking awesome. I can’t even praise it enough!

IdiocracyTotal Recall (2012) (Redbox) – Finally we watched the redo, different Total Recall…and it was pretty good. Of course, sometimes science fiction is unbelievable, but that’s why it’s scifi, right. Cuz toward the end……..I sure started to question the realism. But, I still liked it.

TotalRecallChariots of the Gods – This is a documentary about “ancient astronauts.” I actually do not really remember it, so I can’t recommend it. I saw some from the Discovery channel or History channel that were much better if you are interested in this theory about aliens visiting the Earth for thousands of years.

ChariotsoftheGodsUnderworld: Rise of the Lycans (own, rewatch) – Again, I’m a fan of the Underworld serious, although my favs are the first and this one. I think every time I want Sonja to live, but we know how this one goes.

UnderworldRiseofLycansMadagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (Redbox) – Well, these movies are cute. A good family movie.

Madagascar3Pizza My Heart – Oh, this was very cute. And, I remembered, I think I saw it before. Also, I think Shiri Appleby is a cutie. So, it’s about two families that run pizza restaurants and have a grudge! You guessed it…a modern day Romeo & Juliet, but no sad ending.

PizzaMyHeartAll’s Faire in Love – The setting is a summer long Medieval Faire set in MI. Reviews weren’t that good, but I watched it and enjoyed it for what it was. I liked it. It’s nothing I’d rewatch, but I recognized some of the actors. Christina Ricci and Matthew Lillard are in it.

AllsFaireInLoveAnswer This! – A young man is following in his father’s footsteps. Only to realize he doesn’t want to. I liked this one, but the ending just kind of…well it left it all wide open. I guess that was the point. It was a bit slow…and I would not watch this again.

AnswerThisJerk Theory – Such a teenager movie, his heart gets broken, determines being a jerk is the way to go. Of course, to get the right girl, he has to learn how to not be a jerk anymore! Ha…yep…I liked it, but it’s no love.

Not only that, but their functioning and performance are also similar viagra buy cheap to one another. Treatment for impotence is done after evaluating the factors that caused aspermia appears deeprootsmag.org cost of viagra 100mg commonly. Also, playing out any strenuous physical action, driving and working apparatus is entirely disallowed in the wake of overseeing the measurement structure might causes a cipla tadalafil price provisional weakness in accomplishing penile erection. He can also help you find buy cialis in usa other estate litigation lawyers. JerkTheoryPirates! Band of Misfits (Redbox) – This was really good. Very nicely done. I didn’t love it. I don’t need to own it….but…it was really good and I recommend it.

PiratesBandofMisfitsThe Lucky One (Redbox) – Good movie…they both sure were lucky. It’s nice in the end that everything could be figured out and worked out and all for the good.

TheLuckyOne16 to Life – I watched it, because it was going to leave Netflix soon. Cute…16 never been kissed kind of movie. Coming of age movie. It’s always fun when you lose a bit of innocence, but she sure learns a lot in one day!

16toLifeThe Very Thought of You – Joseph Fiennes….and he wasn’t the best character…lol..but he was the main reason I watched this. Chick flick with a happy ending. No surprise there. 3 guys 1 girl…flashbacks. Enjoy!

TheVeryThoughtofYouHappy – This was a documentary. It was pretty good. What does it mean to be happy? How can you be happy? Can you control being happy? Happy psychology! I liked it and learned from it. Definitely going to try to look at the world differently. Already wanted to, this was just a push.

HappyWarm Bodies (theater) – My first movie at the theater this year. I liked it. It wasn’t anything spectacular and it was cute, just as I was told. I am not sure about the zombies eat brains and see the lives of the person who’s brains they are eating thing, but how else could they get flashbacks in there? I did like the concept of zombies curing themselves and of course, I’m a sucker for a love story. I was kind of expecting the skeleton zombies to be scarier and in the movie more…so that was a let down.

WarmBodiesThe Croods (theater) – Another movie at the theater, in the same month, in the same week! I was able to get into a sneak preview of this! It was beautifully animated and had an amazingly cute story. The characters were great. It was a bit funny, and had a good message. Don’t be afraid to go out in the world and try and see things! Now, I like Nicolas Cage, but I know not everyone does. Well, given that, I still think a few times he totally was Nicolas Cage and not his character. One last thing, it did make me think of Ice Age a tiny bit. Other than that, I highly recommend this movie, in particular to families and those that enjoy animated movies. In theaters 3/22/13.

TheCroodsPretty Ugly People – I can’t say this movie was quite what I thought it was. It was a bit slow building up to the actual story….but in the end all of the character learn something about themselves and they grow. Well, they only grow, because of a tragedy, but hey..that’s better than not growing.

PrettyUglyPeopleThe Facebook Obsession – A documentary that didn’t really give me what I thought it would out of it. I thought it might discuss why people get obsessed with Facebook, but it was more about how it came to be and what it is and where it is going. Meh.

TheFacebookObsessionBattleship (Redbox) – A good action flick about aliens attacking when the Navy is in the Pacific for a training exercise. It’s of course got some unbelievable scenes where you realize they shouldn’t have lived, but hey, it’s science fiction, so I tried to roll with it. I didn’t realize when I rented, but, I looked it up while watching that the lead guy was John Carter! And his brother is in True Blood!

BattleshipHotel Transylvania (Redbox) – LOVED IT! Funny, fun, and so gosh darn cute! I highly recommend this one. It’s not just for the kids! Trust me. Adam Sandler does a pretty good job of making one question if it’s really him as the father vampire. Some moments it shows through to confirm it is indeed him. Selena Gomez is cute as his daughter. And, really, all the characters are lovable. Even the zombies.

HotelTransylvaniaThanks for reading! Did you watch any of these or do you plan to?

HoneyBunchesofOats_TropicalBlendsYesterday morning I gave the NEW! Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends cereal a try. I poured myself a bowl and dug right in. First, I should mention, I love coconuts, but I do not like mangos at all. So, I was a bit apprehensive. My first taste was that it tasted tropical and different. I couldn’t really discern that it was mango flakes, but I could taste some coconut. All around the cereal is a bit too sweet and tropical for me…but I liked it. It will not likely be something I grab first, but I would eat it. Well, later that day, I had my boyfriend also try it. He loves mangos and coconuts, so I was hopeful he would like it more than me. One downfall, he’s not a cereal person. He tries it and what does he say? He likes it, he really likes it! He thought it was sweet, but it was good for him. He did not taste any coconut though.

Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style Soup Review

As a Smiley360 member I get to try out products from time to time and share coupons with friends. This time I got a Campbell’s Slow Kettle Style Soup in the mail – flavor was Braised Beef Stew. I believe that was one of my choices, as they were nice enough to ask and said they would try to accommodate. Well, included with the soup was a pair of yellow and green long socks and 10 $2 off coupons! I do not know the price of these in the store, but I saw a 75 cent off coupon in the paper, so I know these have to be good!

CampbellsSlowKettleSoup_Smiley260KitWell, one day when I was working from home, I decided to try the soup out! It’s easy, you take off the lid, peel off the aluminum top, then replace the lid and place in the microwave for the set time. I had to go a little longer with my microwave. And, then I had pipping hot soup!

CampbellsSlowKettleSoup_Smiley360I’m going to be honest here, it wasn’t the best to me. It was hot and it would do if there was nothing else to eat, but it sure didn’t wow me. Would I get them again? Ya, sure…but like I said, it would never be the first thing I grab. The meat in it was really good, but the soup part..meh….that was bland. And, well there was far too many potatoes and not enough other veggies. I liked my sandwich better than the soup, and finished that, but not the soup. Maybe I’m too picky? And, I for sure would try another flavor, when I get it again.

Jan 2013 Movies Watched

To start the new year off right, I watched the equivalent of almost one movie a day! Wow. Pete did watch six of them with me. Which ones do you think they are?

Footloose (2011) – Watching this really made me want to watch the original. Maybe I have, but I sure don’t remember. Anyway, I enjoyed this movie. It wasn’t great to me, but it was enjoyable…and like I said really made me want to watch the original with Kevin Bacon.

Footloose2011Love & Mary – This was super cute. Twin brothers…one Mary….however could this end up? Good twin, bad twin…oh you know which one will win!

LoveandMaryThe Caller – I have to say, I had to read the reviews to try to understand the ending. And, when I found out there was a something made in UK some time ago….oh how I wanted to watch that, but could not find it. Anyway, this movie has a bit of time travel and spirits. Or is it just spirits? Hmm…good question. The ending leaves one a bit wondering, but it was definitely a thriller.

TheCallerThe Nature of Existence – This is a very neat introduction into thoughts about love, life, prayer, science, religion, etc. It goes through so many types of people and countries…it’s just enlightening. There’s a companion series to it…and I’ve watched it, too. This was a rewatch.

TheNatureofExistenceCrazy on the Outside – Well, I added it because of Sigourney Weaver and Tim Allen. It was alright. It was entertaining, it was predictable.

CrazyontheOutsideMorning Glory – So dang cute! I mean, seriously Rachel McAdams is just so cute! Finding it all…isn’t that what we all just want?

MorningGloryCasino Royale – Rewatch. It was tough, seems my DVD is scratched and most of it was skipping and just hard to watch. Ugh. Too bad, b/c I do like this movie. Grr.

CasinoRoyaleLove, Wedding, Marriage – Rewatch. I forgot I watched it, but I had. It’s alright..I wouldn’t call it the best chick flick…but Magic Mike sure looked good.

LoveWeddingMarriageGhost Adventures – I’ve seen the show, so I watched their beginnings. Unfortunately, I sure didn’t pay  much attention to it. Hmmm….not fair to judge.

GhostAdventuresThe Lorax – I liked this. It was neat, it was pretty. It was just a wild tale.

TheLoraxTinkerBell and the Secret of the Wings – My favorite TinkerBell movie yet! Really loved the Summer and Winter Fairies! And twin fairies… yep. I liked this one a lot!

TinkerBellandtheSecretoftheWingsA Little Bit Zombie – This was quite goofy, quite unbelievable…quite B.

ALittleBitZombieParaNorman – So people were recommending this movie to us…so we watched it. I liked it, but I sure didn’t love it like others were telling us. It got a bit goofy, but right, it’s an animation…hah. Alls well that ends well.

ParaNormanQuantum of Solace – Rewatch. Very enjoyable. Yep, own this one, too…and this time I was not disappointed by DVD scratches. Not sure why, but he’s my favorite bond. I really need to see Skyfall!

QuantumofSolaceRemains – Freak accident…most of humanity turns into zombies. A few random survivors in a casino….it’s a little bit crazy…and a little bit unbelievable…but then enough…that you watch the whole thing? I mean, I did. LOL. Of course, most die…but…you know…a couple survive.

This is the reason that you just have to put your sex life at cheapest levitra a stop to deal with erectile dysfunction. Did you know about these important pointers? Or are you the one who just went ahead purchasing the medicine, and are lucky to escape you can look here generic viagra online from dangerous side effects, which tend to be mostly mild, and because of this, it is possible to obtain successful results with addictive thinking and/or psycho-emotional behaviors utilizing the unique therapeutic processes of Perception Therapy that address the whole person and underlying causes, not just. One medication in particular is viagra 25mg, which was not affordable for many people. If you are skeptical about cialis overnight shipping midwayfire.com alternative medicines, do some research. RemainsThe Traveler – I saw Val Kilmer, and I thought what the heck. Twisted. A bit bloody. And, they sure get you thinking one way, when, ooooh it’s another.

TheTravelerLast Holiday – I avoided watching this…cuz I’m a weirdo. I liked it. Very fun…love that she grabs life by the horns and then…it all works out. Ahhhh my kind of movie.

LastHolidayThe Hole – Weird. Yep. Weird. Not really scary. Not really that thrilling. Just weird and all does end well.

TheHoleEmma – Rewatch. I think I watched it again, because I was looking up Clueless and realized it was based off this book. Definitely a like in my book. Classic and lovely.

EmmaOne for the Money – No Oscar winner here, and I’m not sure I believed her accent….but hey…I guess she can be a bondsman…and even learn to shoot. Love story is in there, but….it’s rocky.

OnefortheMoneyThe Curse of King Tut’s Tomb (Part 1) – Casper Van Dien…like seriously you know this is going to be so…..SCIFI! I mean, syfy!

TheCurseofKingTutsTombI Kissed a Vampire – One of those movies that was so painful, but yet I watched it to completion. Why? Because now I can say I watched a teenage vampire musical. Oh,  yes, I can.

IKissedAVampireEverything You Want (Love Surreal) – Make believe boyfriend, check. Potential real boyfriend, check. All works out in the end after a weirdness, check!

EverythingYouWantLoveSurrealThe Curse of King Tut’s Tomb (Part 2) – I have to say…the end really got all syfy and a bit disappointing. And, I’m a sucker for Egyptian movies…even syfy ones. Hehe.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles – ANNOYING. Pete was like you have to watch this. It’s classic 80s comedy. Meh. Annoying is what it is…not believable either.

PlanesTrainsAutomobilesThe Switch – I liked this, though it does get a bit slow, and then just fast-forwards insanely. And, ta da…they get together.

TheSwitchIron Sky – Nazis on the dark side of the moon….trying to take over the Earth? Yes, please. Good concept, not perfectly executed. Worth a watch if this is something you like.

IronSkySnow White and the Huntsman – I really liked this version. And, I really liked Chris Hemsworth. I mean, I really liked this version it was a good story. Until the end, where we never get to see them living happily ever after! I mean come on this is a Snow White story, that’s what we are supposed to see!

And, that’s my take on the movies I watched in January!

MonkeySphere, Understanding Those that Think of You as a Number

I learned about something called “monkeyspheres” late in 2011, wanted to write about it in July 2012 (and accidentally posted it prematurely), but finally got around to finishing my take on it in Feb. 2013. Though, apparently the article came out in 2007, you can read it here. It is an interesting concept – that primates can only have so many in their circles that they can remember and then using that concept for humans. Primates can hold about 50 in their circles, whereas humans can hold up to 150 in our circles.

Monkey_UpHigh_AK

TwoSmallMonkeys_AKWhat does this mean exactly? Well, it means that, at most, we can only think of about 150 people as really people. After that, we start to think of them as “others”, “them”, etc. We just can’t fit them into our circles to actually think of them as “human”. Those that are in our circles are family members, friends, co-workers, and others that we see on a regular basis. Those that are not in our circles are people we do not see often (they may come in and out of our circles), service people, government officials, co-workers in another part of the large company you work for, other drivers, other shoppers, etc. We will tend to lump them into ambiguous anonymous groups and think of them as a whole rather than as individuals. Those in our circles we know more about and we think of them as individuals apart from the rest in our circles…and treat them as such. Those not in our circles will be treated as we treat all that we put in whatever category we think they are in. At times those not in our circles can come to be in our circle for a moment and be thought of as an individual, but usually quickly discarded.

Silverback_AKWith this concept it is easy to understand why the president of a large company thinks of you as a number and will likely never think of you as an individual. Also, you can see why your congressman, senator, or even the President can only think of us in terms of numbers, too – maybe our SSN, maybe our voting, maybe our DL. It it hard sometimes to realize that they can’t think of us as an individual, why do they not understand what we need? Well, they are thinking of the BIG picture…they are thinking of chunks of people in groups…and what they need. They also have to appease their “monkey circles” and do what makes those in their circles happy. I mean, think about your family and friends, do you not have to do things for them sometimes to make them happy (even if just presents for birthdays, etc.)? Right, you do, and you think of them as individuals. Well, same thing for those that you say see you as a number…they have 150 (or more really) in their “monkey” circles and they have to make them happy…and then of course have to make bigger groups happy, then finally you.

CuteMonkey_BZI know we can understand this, but will it make us feel for them any more? I mean come on…they are the richer ones…and we are not! Well, here’s how I think of it…they are doing the best they can with the knowledge they have for their business, their program, their county, their state, their government…and all we can do is our best to enjoy our lives at these lower levels…as they will never understand us. Yes, you should keep active in your large company and try to be heard when you have issues. Yes, you should vote and try to get laws passed that help you. Also, you should, be informed and make sure you live in the area with the laws you can live with, work in a company that you can deal with, and surround yourself with people in your “monkeyspheres” that make life better and just enjoy life the best you can.

MomBaby_Monkeys_BZWhat do you think about “monkeyspheres?” And, do you think you have about 150 individuals in your “monkeysphere?”

FYI – All these pictures are ones that I took. 🙂
