Pre-Valentine’s Durex Sexplorer’s Party (Crowdtap)

Being a Crowdtapper has some wonderful advantages, such as being invited to host parties…like this Durex one I won in January to have in February. I applied to host, but thought I would not get the party, since I’d just had the Durex Sample and Share in January. Well, I did get it and then I had to think what kind of party was I going to have? I quickly realized I did not have the kind of friends that wanted to share their bedroom escapades. So, I invited and assured everyone that it would be about the products, adult games, drinks, and laughter. Five couples decided they would join. That made the party 12 of us for the night!

Since the party was to be hosted at the beginning to middle of February, I went with a Pre-Valentine’s theme and decorated with hearts, love, red streamers, and red lights. That definitely set the mood.

Durex_SexplorerParty_DecorationsFor tasty treats I set out a trio of meat (wings, cocktail wienies, and meatballs), cheese cubes, veggie tray, fruit tray, Mardi Gras dip & tortilla chips, lemon cupcakes, and chocolate cake pops. I also set out quite a bit of alcohol to make various drinks, but only two were requested: Orgasm and Blushing Lady. Everyone wanted to try the new Patron Cafe Extra Dark (chocolate) and the not new Patron Citronage that I had on hand. Both are delicious.Durex_SexplorerParty_DrinksnSnacks_sm

When everyone arrived the mood was set with a sexy playlist of songs and red lights. We chatted and snacked for about an hour. Then we got down to some drinking and when all the couples were there, we played 3 rounds of Never Have I Ever. Let me just say, when everyone has been drinking…that’s an odd sentence setup and we had to re-read them a few times! My oh my the reveals or not reveals.

We took a break for more snacking, drink making, and ideas for games people could win prizes from! Everyone was going home with the goody bags I set up, but there were vibrating items for everyone to take home as prizes!

Durex_SexplorerParty_UsGames_smWe ended up playing 4 games. I had some rude balloons that I bought for the party, but never blew up and made into the shapes. So, we decided that the men would make the Big Boy (ie. Penis) balloons and the best one would win a prize. That took a while, since no one ahead of time was a balloon artist and drinks had been had. In the end one popped their balloon before judging, another gave up, and it was down to 3. The one with the most talent…got first pick of the prizes!

Then we played how much water could the condom hold…hah I managed to get a couple of pictures as it got really big…and then POPPED on us! We decided the person who guessed the highest amount would win! Next up was a game suggested by one of the guests – the guys would hold the opened condoms and the girls would guess the flavor! Two guessed correctly, but only one could win. They rock, paper, scissored it. LOL. The last game we played was toss the condom into the cup. To make it interested the guys held the cups between their legs or just in place with their hands. All the girls tried, but only ONE was able to toss the condom in the cup! She sure showed us it could be done!

Since it was getting late, it was time to let all the winners pick their prizes that I had laid out nicely. Earlier in the night I had talked about what they were with some of the guests that were interested. Let’s just say, all five couples went home with something that would vibrate! Then, I held a drawing with everyone’s name for the Durex Delight couples massager and the winning couple was so excited to get it! EVERYONE had wanted to take it home.

My Atkins Deliciously Satisfying House Party!

Early January I got a host spot from House Party for the Atkins Deliciously Satisfying House Party!! I was excited to get another house party, the last one I had was the Planter’s NUT-rition Peanut Butter Everyday Adventures House Party in October 2012.

Atkins_Party_6For this House Party they were providing a lot of items for the host:

  • 16 Gratuity coupons for Atkins Frozen Meals
  • 1 Retailer letter
  • 1 Atkins cookbook
  • 1 Atkins Quick Start Guide
  • 1 Atkins apron
  • 1 Atkins water bottle
  • 20 Paper plates
  • 20 Napkins
  • 1 pack of utensils

They also provided items for the guests:

  • 13 coupons for $1 off Atkins Frozen Meals
  • 13 Atkins reusable grocery totes
  • 13 Atkins grocery list note pads
  • 15 Atkins Advantage Caramel Chocolate Peanut Nougat Bars
  • 15 Atkins Endulge Chocolate Coconut Bars
  • 15 other Atkins bars

Atkins_ShakesTo prepare for the party, I purchased 6 of the Atkins shakes 4 packs, as they were on sale buy 1 get 1, perfect timing! I also went ahead and bought some decorations – red and blue stars that match Atkins colors for the walls, to hang, and confetti…and blue streamers. I also bought everything needed to make an Atkins friendly No-Bake Cheesecake (their recipe). Everything was set up and guests were confirmed!

Atkins_Cheesecake_2I had a mini-party with one friend that could not make the Sunday party and we shared one frozen meal and I gave her a goody bag to take home. We agreed that the Atkins frozen meal was one of the better frozen meals out there.

Atkins_MiniPartyOn Sunday, with everything ready guests arrived, there were eight of us in total. I talked about Atkins at first…and then I went right into letting everyone try all the flavors of the Atkins Shakes – I had 6 of them.

Atkins_Party_2Next up, we were able to taste test eight of the nine flavors of Atkins frozen meals. I gave everyone a taste test of each in small cups… We all had different favorites…I think a couple of us really liked the Beef Merlot, and a few others really liked the Chicken Broccoli & Alfredo. The consensus with the breakfast ones was that the Farmhouse Style-Sausage Scramble was a little better than the other, but that wasn’t unanimous.

Atkins_Party_4Atkins_FrozenMeals_1Atkins_Party_5Atkins_FrozenMealsAnd then, we tried the cheesecake! 7 out of 8 of us liked it, with 6 of the 8 loving it! One person didn’t like it, and said it wasn’t sweet enough for them. Everyone that loved it wanted the recipe! And, I was the one that just liked it, I also felt it wasn’t sweet enough for dessert, but it was good enough for a savory dessert.

Atkins_Party_3The only issue I had was with Walmart when I went to redeem the 16 coupons at once. The manager was called over, which took more than 5 minutes. When he was there, he said I could not purchase 16 at once, because the back of the coupon clearly said one per person. He had the letter, when I mentioned it was provided so I could buy them all at once for my party, he said it did not matter. I said there was a number to call to explain this, he said he did not have time for something like this. I said, well can we ring them up in 16 transactions, he said he didn’t care and he walked away. So much for the retailer letter, but in the end, I got all of them in one shopping trip, it just took 30 minutes at the register – but I walked away paying NOTHING! I had previously bought stuff for the party elsewhere. Phew!

All in all this was a successful party and really a super party box! Thank you House Party and Atkins!

I received what was mentioned above for free to host a party and the thoughts and opinions are my own (and my guests).

Dec 2012 Movies Watched

When December came, I was really into watching Holiday movies. A lot of them. So many of them that I didn’t even write them all down. I watched them on Netflix, Hulu.com, ABCFamily 25 Days of Christmas, and my own DVDs (Elf, Scrooged, Christmas with the Kranks, The Santa Clause, Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Frost, Frosty Returns, Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Grinch, A Christmas Story, and now Arthur Christmas, and maybe a couple others.

So, here are the ones I wrote down, remembered, or were in Netflix…that I watched:

Big Lebowski – Pete really wanted me to watch this movie…and I have to say I was liking it..until the end. Then, I felt like my time was wasted. Grr. I know that’s how life is, but I guess sometimes you just want the movie to turn out right.

BigLebowskiElf – I own this. I love this. So cute…so sweet…so ELF! Of course, the ending is a LITTLE BIT OF A LOT CHEESY.

ElfThe Nightmare Before Christmas – I have this movie on VHS, but not on DVD/Bluray…so when it came on Netflix for a while, I took the opportunity to watch it. Like magic in December a whole lot of Disney movies appeared. It’s definitely a good movie.

TheNightmareBeforeChristmasChristmas Angel  – This was a sweet movie. Wasn’t quite what I expected. And, I didn’t realize it was new.

ChristmasAngelAll I Want for Christmas – This story has been told before, but it was a nice spin. I just watched it because it was a Christmas movie, but I liked it. And, I noticed now, there is a movie of the same name from 1991, but this is the 2007.

AllIWantForChristmasHugo – This was an interesting movie. It wasn’t at all what I expected. Looked lovely and the ending was just perfect.

HugoTinker Bell and the Lost Treasure – What can I say…I like these cute Tinkerbell movies. I’ve seen them all now. Beautiful animation…cute stories.

TinkerBellLostTreasureTinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue – You guessed it another cute, fun, beautifully done Tinkerbell movie.

TinkerBellGreatFairyRescueSanta Clause (The Movie) – This was different, and I watched it thinking it was a different movie, but it was pretty good. Not at all what I expected. I mean…they really span the years with Santa and bring it right up to present day (mid-1980s).

SantaClauseTheMovieChristmas Lodge – This was a nice movie, and predictable. I don’t think I focused on it, as much as I got the gist of it.

ChristmasLodgeDear Santa – Such a cute movie. Haha. Even if she starts out as a brat..it ends perfectly nicely.

DearSantaA Christmas Kiss – Case of the perfect not perfect couple..only to realize her assistant is actually perfect for her fiance. Ahhhh. LOL.

AChristmasKissCrazy for Christmas – This had a good story. It was interesting. And, you start to realize what’s going on halfway through the movie, but that’s alright.

CrazyforChristmasAll She Wants for Christmas – The okay movie where the unexpected girl saves everything.

AllSheWantsforChristmasMistle-Tones – A new Christmas movie on ABC Family. It was pretty good. Nothing awesome, and not really a new story. Everyone has to learn something. It was a lot of singing…and dancing…and fast-forwarding through practicing. In the end all ends well.

Mistle-TonesChristmas with the Kranks – Just love this movie for some reason. I think as we get older more of us fantasize about having no holiday responsibilities and just heading off on vacation. Some people actually do this. So, this movie is ridiculous, but I enjoy it.

ChristmaswiththeKranksThe Santa Clause – I got this movie from my Aunt & Uncle when I was a teenager…and I’ve been watching it ever since. I do think it was VHS, and now it’s DVD. Doesn’t matter. I just love it. I rewatch it every year.

TheSantaClauseScrooged – I think in 2011 or 2010, I started wanting to see this movie again, and I’m so glad I bought it. Just love it. It’s definitely in my holiday rotation.

ScroogedA Christmas Story – This is Pete’s favorite Christmas movie. And, I have to say, I bought it for him…thinking I didn’t like it. I mean, I never did growing up…I never really “got” it. So, finally I really watch it last year with him and guess what I like it. I “get” it. It’s a good movie…very good movie. And, I got Pete a “leg lamp” ornament. Heh.

AChristmasStoryHow the Grinch Stole Christmas – Heh. I do love this live action movie. I like the extension of the story…seeing more characters. And the love interest!

HowtheGrinchStoleChristmasArthur Christmas – I loved this last Thanksgiving when we watched it and asked for it for Christmas…it’s just so nicely done and such a cute story. Really, a bit ridiculous at times, but hey it’s an animation!

ArthurChristmasChristmas Vacation – I think this is one I actually watched AFTER Christmas because I noticed it was available and I never watched it this season. And, those Old Navy ads just made me want to watch. A classic.

Oct – Nov 2012 Movies Watched

It would seem I watched more movies in October and November than all of July through September! Heh. Never ever assume Pete watches these movies with me, because he only watches a few with me. I bet I could even remember which ones…Dark Shadows and The Hunger Games. Yep, just two of these. Well, enjoy my quick bit about the movies….no detailed reviews here…just what I watched and my quick thoughts…trying not to give the movie away…unless I think the majority of the world has seen it.

Alice: Part 2 – It might have only been a couple of weeks between Alice: Part 1 and 2, but it wasn’t back to back. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this rendition of Alice. I liked how it was modern and yet not. I actually liked a lot of the scenery and effects. And, it all turned out happily ever after.

AliceClueless – I just felt like watching it again. It’s just one of those fun movies that I enjoy watching.

CluelessExit Humanity – Zombie movie. I watched it in two parts. It was decent, but a bit slow. But, there was something I liked about it.

ExitHumanityGrave Encounters – This didn’t keep my attention. It was just playing in the background. I don’t think I’ll bother re-watching. Wait..maybe I should…I mean I really don’t know what it is about…and there’s even a part 2!

GraveEncountersWerewolf: The Beast Among Us – This wasn’t great, but the beast was sure among them! And, it was alright. I mean, you sure end up feeling for the beast!

WerewolfTall Man – Now this was not quite the story I thought it was going to be. I mean, I really didn’t expect how things turned out. It’s definitely a thriller and not a horror movie. And, you tell me if you agree with them!

TallManDark Shadows – This was interesting, but it left me wanting to check out the old TV show…I just felt like I didn’t get enough out of it. Of course, Johnny Depp looks the part. Michelle Pfieffer sure looks good!

DarkShadowsThe Hunger Games – We finally watched it…and we liked it. I do think some of it was sheer luck on Katniss’s part, but we all know how it ends, with luck and skill for sure. I do look forward to seeing her character develop (note I haven’t read the books, but who knows maybe I will someday), as she still is super strong in spirit!

TheHungerGamesThe Innkeepers – A supernatural thriller that certainly ended weird. I think it would pull me in and then not…so maybe I missed something…but whatever.

TheInnkeepersUninhabited – This poor couple. Makes one think twice about a deserted island for your honeymoon.

UninhabitedMirror, Mirror – Well, it was fun. Not my favoritest take on Snow White, but it was fun. And, I sure liked seeing Eddard, I mean, Sean Bean there at the end.

MirrorMirrorDracula 3000 – Space Dracula..need I say more?

Dracula3000The Moth Diaries – This was interesting…what was she? But, in the end she frees herself, gets rid of the “she” and sadly loses her friend forever…but she’s gonna be alright. Got that?

TheMothDiariesTwilight Breaking Dawn: Part 2 – I definitely liked it….even the twist, which I appreciated it for being a vision! It was beautifully done…and I do think the movies kept getting better.

TwilightBreakingDawnPart2Noel – And, then I started my need to watch Christmas movies. They are what they are. Sweet, spiritual, about love and family. This movie was all of that. Everyone got to move on, everyone got to grow, and everyone learned something.

NoelHoliday Engagement – The ol’ fake fiance bit…where in the end they are in love! Over a weekend…ahhh holiday romance!

The-Holiday-EngagementA League of Their Own – It had been a very long time since I saw this, and I think because we saw Geena Davis at Epcot’s Candlelight Processional that I was feeling like seeing a movie with her in it. Well, I really liked it. It was a good movie!

ALeagueofTheirOwnA Novel Romance – This wasn’t quite what I expected. But, I used to really like Steve Guttenburg, so what the heck. It was slow, but cute. In the end, you are so happy those quirky people get together. May/December relationship.

July – Sept (2012) Movies Watched

Long-awaited, I’m sure. Just kidding. These are the movies I watched from July to September 2012. In July I was still in South Carolina and for August/September we were living in Orlando. Most movies were watched in July and September – simply due to August being very busy with just moving, new jobs, etc. And, so, here are the movies I watched:

Open Season 3 – Cute movie, clean animation. Nice story line. It was super cute…go watch it!

OpenSeason3Everybody’s Fine – Family movie. Sentimental, sad, happy…growing as a family kind of movie. It’s good, but it’s the kind of movie where ya most everyone is fine, but ya not everyone is.

EverybodysFine20 Years After – This was an interesting about about after the devastation. of an apocalypse..no great movie though. Well not to me. But, it’s about a woman who’s about to have the first baby in 15 years…and moving forward.

20YearsAfterGhost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance – I should first say, I have a thing for Nicholas Cage, why I don’t know. I mean, it is getting less as he gets older, but it’s still there. Geez. So, I had to watch this. I mean, I watched the first one. I liked it, action, demons, fire…all good.

GhostRider_2The Vow – I am such a sap. I eat this stuff right up. A wife looses her memories of the past important years and her husband has to figure out how to win her back! Awe!

TheVowSpaceballs – I’ve seen this movie lots and lots of times. I own it, Pete owns it…haha. It’s just one of those movies that’s so ridiculously fun! May the Schwarts be with you!

SpaceballsImmortals – I actually forgot I watched this movie and rewatched months later. I’m a sucker for movies done in ancient times…Greece/Rome/Egypt..you got me. But, the first time I watched this, we were packing to move to FL…so I wasn’t watching it with all of my attention on it. Anyway, I liked it. LOL.

ImmortalsThe Decoy Bride – Different and quirky. But, it all works out for the best in the end.

TheDecoyBrideHello Sister, Goodbye Life – A brat having to grow up by taking care of their younger sibling. Oh this story has been told. But really, she grows and becomes a better person and happier in the end.

Alice: Part 1 – This must’ve been a TV mini-series, but I enjoyed the take on the story. Seemed modern whimsical…which was good and alright for me. You will notice that it was a while before I watched the 2nd part, as it’s not in this time span. 🙂
