Woolite Extra Dark Sample & Share (Crowdtap)

Being on Crowdtap, every now and then I get the opportunity to be a part of sample and shares! Recently, I participated in the Woolite “Save Your Jeans” Sample and Share. They provided me with 10 Woolite Extra Dark samples with $1 off coupons to share.

When I was in Orlando earlier this month, I shared two samples with friends. I told them how Woolite Extra Dark can save your jeans, is great for darks, and is no longer just for delicates. Then, when back in Columbia, I shared five more samples with my boyfriend’s family, telling them the same awesomeness. Everyone was very receptive to trying Woolite, as most had not. Two had and were happy to hear Woolite does more than delicates. I have to say I was surprised they did not know this already! I guess that’s what the campaign is for!

Last year I received a Woolite Extra Dark sample from Woolite and my boyfriend instantly wanted Woolite Extra Dark for his darks and jeans to make them last longer. So, we’ve had it for months and months! It smells alright, not my favorite, but it seems to work. It definitely gets things clean. I also have Woolite Complete, as I got that free from another site. Again, the smell is not my favorite, but it works and gets colors and white clean!

Woolite Extra Dark is great for:

  • Your favorite jeans
  • A vintage t-shirt
  • A wool sweater
  • Other articles of clothing that you love

As a Crowdtapper, I received samples for free to share, but nothing more. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Please note that I’ve not had a lot of posts lately due to packing up to move from SC to FL! Columbia to Orlando! A lot still to do, including getting this post done for Crowdtap, since have to wrap up the campaign by this weekend and want to ensure I can! And, if you counted, I still have 3 samples to give away, guess I will do that when I move and unpack them! Phew!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Sheer Solution Review

I am a BzzAgent and I was able to be a part of the John Frieda Frizz Ease Sheer Solution BzzCampaign! As part of this campaign I received a full size product and 8 samples to share. I shared the samples with gals in town and mailed some out-of-town. Once all samples were shared – I tried my product!

Frizz Ease Sheer Solution is easy to use, just shake until mixed and add 10 drops to your hand. Then, blend into your towel-dried hair. Style as usual. Ta da! It definitely feels lightweight and smells great! I am not one prone to terrible frizz in the summer, but I tried it out anyway. What I found for me, was that it made my hair smell nice and kept my hair from tangling and kept it smooth. It did not keep my fly-aways down, though. I will definitely be trying this product out in the winter when I get more frizz associated with static. I will also use any time I want an extra boost to de-tangle and smooth.

Independence Day & the Peach Festival (7/4/12)

We got up early on Independence Day, as I was going to take some belly pics of Pete’s youngest sister, Elizabeth. She’s about 6 months pregnant. We went to the Riverwalk, and found some naturally nice spots to take pictures of her, and some of her and her son. Pete was there to keep his nephew busy when he wasn’t needed in pictures. Heh. It was starting to get hot…..so we left. Plus none of us had had breakfast.

Pete and I ate something I’d rather not have for breakfast – McDonald’s, but Chick-Fil-A didn’t open til after breakfast (of course, now we might be boycotting them because of their hugely anti-gay sentiments – which do not bode well with either of us). While eating, we discussed what we were going to do today. There had been talk of a BBQ or a boil, but neither were panning out. So, I said let’s go to the Lexington County 53rd Peach Festival in Gilbert, SC (about 40 min from us). Pete, mentioned the heat, but decided we could go. I got ready fast, and we left close to lunchtime.

Festival banner over the street.

When we got near the festival, some nice guy pointed out a parking spot to us…and we were like awesome! Little did we know we had to hike up a hill about a mile (probably more like a half mile) in the hot middle of the day sun! I was nice and sweaty by the time we got to the festival, which I hate. O’well.

The Peach Festival was pretty big, I was surprised, but should have known by it being its 53rd! It had art vendors along a stretch with no shade! All the food vendors and entertainment were in and out of shade in what seemed like a park! That was nice. Also, there were rides and a car show (in the sun, that we had to walk around and see).

We found ourselves some peach cobbler topped with peach ice cream to enjoy…and it did not disappoint! Then we had a peach sizzler drink that did not impress me, but it was cold…and those ice cubes went a long way in the heat!

All in all, we saw everything, tried peach stuff…bought peach BBQ sauce and SC peaches, all in an hour! LOL. And, then it was a walk back down that hill (ahhh) and to the car. Oh sweet A/C…

After cooling down…and doing who knows what…Pete’s brother Anthony wanted to know what we were up to. Well, him and his girlfriend, Shannon, came over and all of us decided that we should enjoy Domino’s pizza! Ha. None of us felt like cooking and no one was prepared for a cookout…so Domino’s to the rescue! Then we played a round of Apples to Apples. I was a big baby…cuz I was losing, and then…I somehow won! Don’t know how that works, but I’ll take it!

Driveway near the festival.

And that was our 4th of July. All in all a good day!

A Few Confessions pt.2

In this edition of a few of my confessions, I have a theme about my learning to drive and my first car. Enjoy…are they really confessions…guess you will have to read!

1) I got my learner’s permit in Vermont. I found out it was easier to get it in that state, and when I went up there for the summer, I got it at the age of 19. Then back to college, I just paid to turn it into a FL one.

2) I learned how to drive when I was 25 years old. I remember wanting to learn to drive in high school, but I did not want to take Driver’s Ed. I thought for sure my mom would teach me, but as time went by she never did. Then, I went off to college, and there was not any real need to learn there…I lived across from school, and had friends with cars. After college, it still wasn’t until I had a full time job for over a year, before a friend of mine made sure I learned to drive (I know he did not want to be my chauffeur anymore). Well, GE taught me to drive, and TB taught me to park! Thanks so much, you two!

3) I took my driver’s test twice, not because I didn’t know how to drive, but because I could not park. Oh, that man was so mean and just told me to drive back, park, and denied. Anyway, TB spent a good bit of time teaching me how to park, and like magic, I passed the second time.

4) I got my first car at a car auction. That was an experience. They really spoke fast…and it was up to me to tell a guy which car to bid on and my maximum. Cars were going for more than I expected and before I knew it, I was going home with a car I didn’t want…and I cried. It was a good car to me from March 2005 until it died in August 2009.

Not my car, but same color and year. So looks JUST like it did.

5) I sold my car on Craig’s List…even though, yep…it didn’t move. I got a lot of offers and the first time I listed it, I couldn’t sell it. I got all sentimental. Second time I listed it, same lots of offers and someone came right out and paid cash. And they towed my car away…

Do you have any interesting stories about how you learned to drive? Your first car? Or how you sold a car? 🙂

June 2012 Movies Watched

I know you just can’t wait to see what movies I watched in the past month..so without any fanfare here they are in watched order:

The Horsemen – I was not sure if I was going to watch this, due to the nature of the movie, but I did. Gory…and I have to say..I like that they had reasons, real reasons. Of course, I suspected who it was…and we all know…they always attack the main character…so…that part was predictable. And, in the end, he survives, but what kind of life is he going to have after what he did? Hmm…yes, complicated.

Snatch – I know I watched this years ago, but I had not remembered it. I also, had no intention of rewatching, but, Pete wanted to…and I couldn’t stop watching. What was going to happen next! Sheesh those Pikies (I think) were awesome! That ending…perfecto! I was sad at how little screen time Benicio Del Torro had, o’well.

V for Vendetta – Even though, everyone else had seen this already, I had not. I finally watched it, and powerful. Really powerful message. I liked it. I really liked it.

Clue – Of course, I’ve seen this one…haha. Awesomely hilarious and campy. It’s a classic.

The Woman in Black – I had heard this was creepy, scary…but eh. It had its moments, but overall it was just a mother that was never going to forget or forgive. And in the end…well…I guess it ended the way it should have. Also, after a while, you forget he’s Harry Potter and let him be his character.

Men In Black 3 – This movie was entertaining, as the other two were. Not sure there was enough aliens in this one. Loved the ending…but one has to wonder… Land of the Dead – I was in the mood for a zombie movie. I half feel like I’ve seen some of this one before, but I couldn’t really remember. Just the one “aware” zombie seems familiar. It was alright…These Girls – Home alone on a Sunday night, decided to watch this movie since Pete does not watch chick flicks. It was interesting…story of 3 girls trying to share one married man (none of them married to him). Not sure I’d ever share my man with someone, but guess they all survived.

Mystic Pizza – I don’t know if I ever saw this when I was younger, but I watched it now because it was set in Mystic, CT. That was the main reason. It was cute, it was 80s, and it was fun.

The result is that androids, blackberries, smartphones and others have cialis properien been dominating the chosen field. On the other hand, it should be something that http://new.castillodeprincesas.com/directorio/seccion/salones/ viagra 50 mg is personal as ED condition can be challenging. You experience several complications if you lack it for example , weight gain, sleep debt, moodiness, as well as to make sure that buy levitra professional you are not doing it right then you will not be able to grab the perfect solution.

Brave – I had seen the movie was coming, but I gave it none of my attention. Until I got free movie passes to see it. LOL. Then I’m like what is this? OMG so cute. Yep, loved it. Not exactly the story line I thought, but terribly cute, wonderful animation. Such a heartfelt story. And, I didn’t even notice we were watching in 3D, is that a good thing or not? But, again it was a beautiful movie, so…I recommend this Disney Pixar movie. See my post about Buca di Beppo & Brave.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows – I liked it. I liked it less than the first one, but I liked it. It was a fun romp, albeit totally unbelievable at times. I have a soft spot for RDJ, so I always feel compelled to watch his movies…but this is not a bad decision at all. If you liked the first, you shall enjoy the second.

The Rum Diary – First off, I was NOT going to watch this, but since it showed up in Netflix, why not? Thought it’d be funny, hmm not quite as much. It was interesting, but it was very slow at the start. I had no idea it was based on someone’s real life tales, I think after seeing that…and what that man accomplished after, made me like the movie a tad bit more.

The Muppets – It was cute, but really cheesy. Pete said that’s the Muppets for ya, and I’m like guess I’m not a Muppet fan. I like them, and I know I liked them when I was a kid, but this movie wasn’t for me. It got better once the Muppets actually were in it, and the ending was cute, no one can deny, but I won’t be owning this.

Did you see any interesting movies in June?

Time Flies – 15 years since HS

This month I realized it was 15 years since I had graduated high school. 15 years! Where did the time go? How has it really been 15 years? What’s funny, is I know time had passed, because I can’t recall teacher’s names and other student’s that weren’t as important to me (even guys that I had minor crushes on). When I was in college it was all so fresh, I could recall so much. Now I can remember recalling, but I cannot actually recall without looking at a yearbook or something.

My Sophomore and Junior Pictures

With it being 15 years since graduation, my class earlier this year had been talking about having a 15 year reunion, and not waiting until our 20th. If I was in FL, I might go, or heck if I had a job (ATM still job hunting – anyone need an instructional designer?) When it was my 10 year reunion, I was going to go…I even went down to Ft. Myers, but in the end I did not go. The reason, none of my good friends from high school were going. I did buy the picture and address book though (which helped me get back in touch with a dear friend).

As it is, the group for my graduating class, hasn’t been talking about that summer reunion…so it’s probably been pushed off to fall, or even scrapped.

And, I’m just left wondering what have I accomplished since high school graduation? Well, I went to Florida State University and got my Bachelors of Art in Psychology and Classical Civilizations, and went on to get my Masters of Science in Instructional Systems. After college it took a while to get a job as an Instructional Designer, but I did before the year was up. I’ve been an Instructional Designer for over 9 years now, having worked at 3 companies, and had my own LLC for a year.

In my personal life I’ve been with my boyfriend for over 6 years and I have two pets (Maja – cat and Parker – Chihuahua). Also, in 2007, I found out I had 3 more siblings than I thought! Since graduating high school, I’ve lived in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Atlanta (6 wks for work), Orlando, and Columbia (SC).

Me, after graduation – my honor cord, my Gold Seal, and of course my diploma!

Getting older is weird. Time passing is weird. Makes one think about all the things they still want to do…and just how fast time moves forward. I wonder what the next 5, 10, and 15 years will hold!

L’Oreal Youth Code Day/Night Cream Review (Smiley360)

As a Smiley360.com member, I get to try out products for free. The latest product I was sent for free from Smiley360 and L’Oreal, is their Youth Code Day/Night Cream. It is a small container with about .5 oz in it.

L’Oreal’s Youth Code boasts that 95% of women saw results (skin felt restored, rested, and smooth). One drop instantly improves skin quality. One week your skin will look visibly younger. And one month, skin acts dramatically younger (skin is firmer and cell renewal increases).

Well, since there is no SPF in this particular Youth Code product, I only use it at night. It is also thicker than day moisturizers, so another reason I wear at night. Even though it is thicker, it does not feel heavy like it is clogging pores. After using it for about a week, I do have to say, I feel like my skin feels smooth (might be early, but I feel it). I am not sure that my skin looks visibly younger, as it was not looking visibly older. I like the product as a night cream for myself. I would have to get their Day Lotion with SPF 30 for daytime usage, as it is very important to me to have SPF in my moisturizer.

Bottom line, I like the product, but I do not have enough of it to test out a month’s usage and really how would I know if there was cell renewal going on?

Have you used any of the L’Oreal Youth Code line? Did you like it?

I received the L’Oreal Youth Code Day/Night Cream free from Smiley360, but the thoughts and opinions expressed are my own (other than the product details, those are L’Oreal’s).

RIP Martog 1998-2012

As some of you know, Martog was said to have cancer after his weird episode at the beginning of December. They gave him 2 months to live. We took him home and gave him pain and anti-inflammatory meds for months. Recently, the meds have not been working very well…his hind legs just collapse at times. Also, he was going #2 in the house since January, but started in June #1. All this is not a good combination. We can tell he’s in pain, but his determination for food and pettings…believe that would drive him on and on.

Pete has been wrestling with when he would have to put Martog to sleep. Well, he started getting sores on his hind paws a few weeks ago, but this week Pete noticed there are sores on his legs and his unmentionables. The time had come. It’s never an easy decision. Pete made the call and set it up for this morning.

Last night and this morning I took a lot of pictures of him…and all Pete’s siblings and father came by to say “bye” to Martog past couple days (not that all of them knew it was happening today). Martog was given cooked pork as a treat repeatedly last night and this morning. I said, “bye” to Martog, but I just could not go with Pete. Wes went with him. I cried as they left…it’s really just so weird. It’s so humane, but also so weird to have this decision. And, of course, SAD. It’s so fresh, I can’t even…I can imagine it’s going to be weird without him wondering around…breathing heavy…drooling on our feet, squeezing his way past us…wanting food…stealing Parker’s food. I wonder if Maja & Parker will miss him or notice? Guess we shall see over the next week.

He was a protector, a guard, and marked his territory! He was strong and big. He was so healthy for so long (easily until he was 12). He was playful and loved his meaty chew toys. He was a great companion to Pete. And what a ham at parties! See my previous post on “Introducing Martog” for more information about his life.

Martog will be missed…may he have the biggest meatiest bone in doggie heaven….and strong legs to mark his territory where he likes. Rest in peace Martog.
